Lewis diagrams, Lewis structures, or dot diagrams, are diagrams that show the bonding of electrons between molecules of atoms. Lewis diagrams can be drawn for any covalently bonded molecule and compounds. Named by Gilbert N. Lewis, Lewis added the concept of adding lines between atoms to show the shared pairs of electrons in a chemical bond. For more information on Lewis diagrams, click here.
